He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He graduated in Dramatic Arts at the Argentine National University of Arts (U.N.A).
As regards plastic arts, he studied with the renowned Heriberto Zorrilla and with Juan Doffo.
Concentration, creativity and coherence throughout his artistic search and investigation process are different aspects that make up his identity as an artist. With essentialism as background, he is committed to express his own essence in the canvas, taking chaos as his original source of inspiration, together with graphic, chromatic and texture stimulus. Through his painting activity, free from hindrances, the repetition of a primordial act, he handles, puts in order and chooses the way to combine those essential elements through which painting may turn expressive and become the main symbol of that inner indescribable feeling impossible to verbalize, which favors that level of universality that makes it possible to communicate with others.
His work is highly admired by his colleagues, as evidenced by his teacher, Heriberto Zorrilla: “When we contemplate Juan Moroni’s works, we own the possibility of accessing a bond that is encoded with them in the human feelings, and this is so because they have and irradiate an inner world that gives value to them and turns them into a token of a sensitive heritage, which is able to throw itself, with its strong singularity, into its own gestation process, an intuitive flow that goes beyond the mere physical fact of its elaboration. Moroni takes hold of Kandinsky’s statement when, telling the difference between the level of importance of technique and expressive capacity, he said that there is something a work of art should never lack —a soul. And that is what emerges from his works. There are no speculations that drive him apart from the true path of art; he seeks, or rather finds, in each painting, a symbol that is able to show his own personality: flowing, extrovert, forging a bond that can embrace our own feelings. And thus they converge in one flow by which this subtle communication among us is possible. It is always rewarding to access this expression that fertilizes the land of knowledge, the virtual corporealness of Borges’ mirror. Juan Moroni’s own vision can be next to ours, and we can be, together with him, who complete the painting."
The originality of his proposal is added to the techniques he masters, supported by a lengthy training, which includes exploring other branches of art, such as theater and music.
He performed with Marta Minujin in “La Menesunda” at the museum Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA). “La Menesunda” is a work of art created by Minujin in 1965 at the institute Instituto Torcuato Di Tella. Its title is a combination of the words “mixture” and “confusion” in Buenos Aires slang. Of a labyrinth structure, it included sixteen acts and was organized based on a non-linear sequence of spaces covered with different materials, thus creating multi-sensory stimuli. “La Menesunda” was a media success. Marta Minujin and Andy Warhol carried out “Paying off the Argentine Foreign Debt with Corn” (El pago de la deuda externa con choclos, 1985) at The Factory, New York.
Juan Moroni’s works of art were presented at: ArteBA 2011, Chez Vautier gallery; School of Law, University of Buenos Aires (UBA), hall called Salón de los pasos perdidos; German Riding Club in Buenos Aires, La Recova de Posadas (gourmet area in Buenos Aires).
